The novel diagnostic equipment is projected to result in enhanced treatment of cancer, which is said to be tricky for its diagnosis. Cancer researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy and doctors at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sweden, earlier proclaimed that they have developed the latest tool. Their research, which is available online in JCO Precision Oncology, was initiated with a single patient suffering from cancer.

Jonas Nilsson, Director, Sahlgrenska Cancer Center, proclaimed that the organization believes that investigative techniques described have rather direct suggestions that can assist patients who need a proper cancer diagnosis. He added that one patient had come to Sahlgrenska University Hospital with a lung cancer with the history of its reappearance many times, in spite of going through a range of treatments in the hospital. The disease was proved to be critical. However, the patient contributed numerous biopsies for study before his death.

On a similar note, earlier, researchers proclaimed that they have successfully uncovered a connection between particular genetic mutations, the forcefulness of prostate cancer, danger for the development of the disease, and negligible survival chances of patients. Researchers proclaimed that the gene called ANO7 might be responsible for playing an important role in advancing the diagnosis of patients with prostate cancer. There are more than 50,000 additional cases and 11,000 casualties from prostate cancer every year in the U.K.

Presently, there is no proper method for the diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer at its initial stage. Genetic mutations revealed in the latest research might assist in the development of precise diagnostic methods that will eventually mean patients get the best promising treatment sooner.

Scientists studied the DNA from more than 1,700 prostate patients suffering from cancer. They also accessed an equivalent number of healthy men to check for genetic mutations that were related with the disease. They were mainly interested to study mutations in the ANO7 gene as their earlier study proposed that this might be a significant gene for prostate cancer.
