Flipkart, the online retailer, and Decathlon, the sports goods company, this week declared a tactical joint venture to bring the latter’s collection of fitness products, sports equipment, footwear, clothing, and accessories to shoppers in India. These goods would be obtainable at the same costs as in the physical shops, only on the platform of Flipkart. “This is a landmark joint venture where a sports retail behemoth such as Decathlon has selected Flipkart as its favorite associate to extend its accessibility to online shoppers of India,” Rishi Vasudev, Fashion Head at Flipkart, claimed to the media in a statement.

He further claimed that by now associating with the largest sporting goods firm of the world, we look forward to sustaining this development momentum and our stranglehold in this segment.” The joint venture might also allow Decathlon to promote to wider 100 Million+ user base of Flipkart, comprising tier-2 towns and cities all over the country, the statement further claimed. Covering item listings in more than 120 product segments (accessories, clothing, sports goods, fitness equipment, outdoor gear, sports accessories, and much more) from top brands comprising Domyos, Quechua, Btwin, Kipsta, and Kalenji, Flipkart might provide products all over a broad cost range, beginning from Rs 99 to Rs 20,000, with offering facility to almost 10,000 plus PIN codes all over the India. “More than 30 sports lines are anticipated to go live by end of this year,” it claimed to them media this week.
