Ted actress Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have revealed an unexpected name for the new addition to their family.
The actress, 33, gave birth to the couple’s second child earlier this week. And, the loved-up pair have now announced the name of their baby boy. Mr Kutcher has released a statement on his website A Plus, which said: “Dimitri Portwood Kutcher was born at 1:21 a.m. on November 30, weighing 8 pounds and 15 ounces.”
It is understood that the couple have decided to play homage to Ms Kunis’ heritage by choosing a Russian version of the well known Greek name Demetrius. The unusual choice follows an interview with Ms Kunis, in which she said she was more relaxed during her second pregancy then she had been while expecting her first child.
She said that while pregnant for the first time, she had been online every day searching for what size her baby would be. However, it is very unlikely that the couple will be releasing images of their new arrival anytime soon. In the statement, Mr Kutcher said: “We’d like to allow our kids to make their own choices on whether to have a life in the public eye or not. We don’t want to make the choice for them.”
Initially Mr Kutcher joked that he wanted to call his new son Hawkeye. However, he said that Ms Kunis would not consider it. The pair already have a daughter Wyatt Kutcher, who was born two years ago.
Ms Kunis and Mr Kutcher married last summer after first meeting on That 70s Show when they played boyfriend and girlfriend. However, they only began dating four years ago after Mr Kutcher and his first wife Demi Moore broke up. The former couple, who have a 16-year age gap decided they could not make their marriage work.
