WINNEMUCCA — A man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping was sentenced to probation on Monday (April 1), which was among the cases in 6^th Judicial District Court.

NERIO CEBALLOS was sentenced for second-degree kidnapping to 60 months probation with an underlying sentence of 33-86 months in prison and for the deadly weapon enhancement to 60 months probation with an underlying sentence of 33-86 months probation. He has 891 days credit for time served.

The Winnemucca Police Department is investigating the death of a 34-year-old man who was found unresponsive Sunday night (April 7) at a residence in the 500 block of E. Second St. HGH EMS responded and transported the man to Humboldt General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 2:20 a.m. Monday (April 8).

According to a statement released by the WPD, the death was suspicious but no foul play was suspected. Detectives responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation. The man's name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
