(UPDATED)  As of 5:15 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol and NDOT were able to open one travel lane.

UPDATED: According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the semi fire that has the Interstate closed at milemarker 160 westbound started shortly after 2 a.m. The semi was reportedly carrying produce and it took firefighters about an hour to put out the flames. NDOT is working aggressively to open one travel lane. Although there's no guarantees, they hope to have at least one lane open by 5 a.m. or shortly thereafter.

In support of the Administration’s strategy to develop environmentally responsible renewable energy on public lands, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is issuing a regulation that will facilitate right-of-way applications for lands with wind and solar energy development potential.

WINNEMUCCA — All Humboldt County residents are invited to take part in this area’s first annual volunteer day of service.  The “Neighbor to Neighbor Volunteer Day of Service” will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Participants will meet at Vesco City Park at 9 a.m. to receive their assignments. Following four hours of service, all participants will return to the park for lunch at 1 p.m.
