WINNEMUCCA — Following recent discussions on the cost incurred by the city for special events, the Winnemucca Convention and Visitors Authority (WCVA) decided to show a little appreciation – with a $10,000 check.

On hand to present the check to the Winnemucca City Council were Kim Petersen and Don Stoker who expressed the appreciation of the WCVA for the continued positive working relationship between that organization and the city.  The money will be deposited into the special events account and used to help offset cost.

Mayor Di An Putnam expressed the board’s appreciation and said, “This shows what Winnemucca and Humboldt County are all about …cooperative spirit.”

The check was presented during the regular meeting of the Winnemucca City Council on Tuesday.
