BLM solicits proposals for private land wild horse ecosanctuaries

Print
As part of an ongoing effort to improve its Wild Horse and Burro Program, the Bureau of Land Management announced today that it is soliciting proposals for private land ecosanctuaries for wild horses.

The ecosanctuaries, to be publicly accessible with a potential for ecotourism, would help the BLM feed and care for excess wild horses that have been removed from Western public rangelands.  Each proposed ecosanctuary must be able to support at least 100 wild horses.

Recology seeks to have SEC appeal dismissed

Print

CARSON CITY —In their appeal to the State Environmental Commission over NDEPs issuance of an operating permit for the construction of a class 1 landfill, Robert Dolan and Massey Mayo alleged there would be environmental damage and the beauty of the playa would be negatively affected if the project moved forward.

In seeking to have the appeal dismissed, Recology argued the two lack standing to bring such an appeal.

The arguments of the two sides are essentially the same ones they've made all along; they’re just being heard in a new venue.
