WINNEMUCCA — The Humboldt County Commission voted unanimously on Monday (Nov. 7) to solicit proposals for an independent consultant to review the application for an operating permit submitted by Jungo Land & Investments to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.

NDEP is holding a public hearing on the application on December 1 and plans to close the comment period on December 16.   With the clock ticking, the commission opted to jumpstart the process of soliciting proposals for a consultant and will hold a special meeting on Tuesday (Nov. 15) at 8 a.m. to move the matter forward.

The meeting with NDEP has been scheduled for Thursday (Dec. 1) at the Winnemucca Convention Center 6 - 9 p.m.  The meeting is open to the public.
