WINNEMUCCA —This area’s young trick-or-treaters are invited to get a jump on Halloween this weekend during the Winnemucca Grammar School’s annual “Spook Night” celebration.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 22, the indoor Winnemucca Event Center will be packed with those looking for some “spooktacular” fun—and they won’t be disappointed. Look for the evening’s Bingo competition to be a big hit as local try to win an iPod touch and other great prizes.

The evening will include many of the Spook Night favorites that locals have come to expect as well as a few new attractions.

Young spooks won’t want to miss the Grammar School’s brand new Spook House, “Carnival.” Additionally, there will be plenty of prizes to be had at the Fish Pond, Ring Toss, Football Throw, Cake Walk and other fun booths.

The evening will include plenty of goodies, soda pop and the very popular Mexican dinner. The winner of this year’s final round of Bingo will be awarded a brand new iPod Touch. Plus, a raffle for some very big prizes, including Chamber checks for $200 and $100, will round out the evening.

Those raffle tickets are now on sale from any Grammar School student or teacher or at the school itself. Tickets are 50 cents each or 3 for $1. The drawing will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 22. Participants do not need to be present to win.

The evening represents the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Grammar School. Teachers at the school work in coordination with the “FROGS” Parent-Teacher Organization to produce the event.

Kids are encouraged to dress in costume. Booth, food and raffle tickets will be on sale at the door. Call the Winnemucca Grammar School at 623-8160 for more information.
