Community Garden call to action: become a Farmers’ Market vendor! Print

The Community Garden Farmers’ Market seeks vendors for this season. The Farmers’ Market will take place each Saturday starting July 10th, from 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m at the Garden. As in previous years, the Winnemucca Farmers’ Market will take place on Thursday evenings at the Garden from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The two Farmers’ Markets are working together to promote local products and talent here in Winnemucca.

The Community Garden Farmers’ Market will include:

  • Vendors: Selling products grown or made in Nevada, including produce (fruits, vegetables, and herbs), cut flowers, baked or prepared foods, and craft items.
  • NPO Row: Non-profit organizations in Winnemucca are invited to host fundraisers and give out information about their programs, events, and volunteering opportunities. Fundraisers may include ‘garage sales’, raffles, or sales of baked goods or other prepared foods.
  • Community Garage Sale: Community members are invited to sign up to sell household items, garage-sale-style, at the Garden during the Saturday Market.
  • Weekly Market themes, live entertainment, workshops, and demonstrations. We have a lot of talent in the area; it’s time to celebrate it!

Do you make crafts (e.g jewelry, hand-made soaps, pottery), grow fresh produce in your garden, have fresh eggs or milk, or make baked/prepared foods? Consider selling your products as a vendor at a Farmers’ Market booth!

Because the Community Garden Farmers’ Market aims to make the selection of products available at the Market as diverse as possible, there will be no booth charge for vendors for this 2010 season. Vendors are not obligated to sell every week throughout the summer, but for scheduling purposes, must register for dates they intend to sell.

For more information about becoming a vendor, participating in NPO Row or the Community Garage Sale sections of the Market, or if you would like to get involved as a volunteer or member of the Market Organizing Committee, please call Katie at the Winnemucca Community Garden at 775-623-2333, or email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
