WINNEMUCCA — Employees who showed up late to work on Thursday (March 4) with the sorry excuse their alarms never went off -- may have been telling the truth.  NVEnergy reported there were scattered power outages in the early morning hours because the wet, heavy snow that blanketed the area  brought down utility lines.  Karl Walquist, of NVEnergy said the outages were in the early morning hours and most power was restored by 9 a.m. There is a slight chance that rain and snow could return to the area beginning tomorrow and through next week.
