SPJ Reader Question:  Honk's Dollar Store has closed after renewing its lease. Anyone know why?  Will we get another Dollar Store?  Is something new coming to that location?  Also heard Papa Murphy's was coming in.  Anyone know anything?

SPJ Responds:  According to Eddy Davis, City of Winnemucca clerk/treasurer, Honk’s did not renew their business license and to date no inquiries have been made representing a possible future use of that building. 

Years ago representatives from Papa Murphy’s checked out a property on Grass Valley Rd. (where Java Town Coffee is now) but never moved forward with a local location, according to the city’s building inspector Sherrie Chaplin. 

Honk’s made no statement in connection to the closing of their Winnemucca location, which was one of two in Nevada. If a statement arrives SPJ will update this post.  However, the recorded message at the company's headquarters indicates they're going through some changes.
