Print
WINNEMUCCA.— Local emergency personnel will host a community celebration this weekend in honor of National EMS Week.   Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, which is scheduled for May 20-26, honors the lifesaving care that EMS providers offer nationwide, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Locally, Humboldt General Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services Rescue department will mark the week by hosting an “EMS Open House” at the ambulance station.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, community residents are invited to stop by for a free hot dog barbecue, free goodies, balloons and tours of the station and emergency vehicles. Emergency personnel also will offer free blood pressure checks as well as information on the “ice” identification bracelet program.
