WINNEMUCCA — A man in custody on allegations of sexual misconduct with juveniles was in 6th Judicial District Court on Monday (Feb. 6) for arraignment. Homar Galarza-Luna, 28, pleaded not guilty to two counts of battery with the intent to commit sexual assault, category A felonies. A three-day jury trial was set to begin on May 16. The defendant was already in custody on sexual assault charges when the investigation revealed a possible second victim. At the conclusion of the investigation a new case was opened on the above charges. In the first case the defendant was charged with three counts of sexual assault on child under the age of 14, category A felonies, battery with the intent to commit sexual assault, a category A felony, open or gross lewdness, a category D felony, and indecent/obscene exposure, a gross misdemeanor. Galarza-Luna remains in custody at the Humboldt County Detention Center where bail is set at $500,000.
