 The following were the results of arraignment and sentencing hearings before Judge Michael Montero of the  6th Judicial District Court - Department 2 on Friday, Dec. 27, 2012

  • Jonah Michael Burk pleaded guilty to felony transporting a controlled substance and the jury trial scheduled for Feb. 8 and 9 came off the court’s calendar.  As part of the negotiated settlement, a second charge of possession of a controlled substance will be dismissed at the sentencing hearing.
  • The case involving Logan Wallace Thomason, charged with felony sales of a controlled substance, was continued and the jury trial scheduled to begin on Feb. 15 was vacated.  A status conference was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 10.
  • Hollie Sue Wilson pleaded guilty to felony unlawful use of a controlled substance and was sentenced to a 36-month term of probation and drug court.
  • Jade Butcher pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor conspiracy to commit burglary and a sentencing hearing was set for 3 p.m. March 12.  According to court documents, Butcher was arrested after filling a shopping cart with groceries then walking out of the store without paying for them.
  • Michael Bill Elliott pleaded not guilty to felony DUI, a category B felony, and a jury trial was set to begin on April 11.  A pretrial conference was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. March 26.
  • Manuel Dezario Castillo pleaded guilty to sales of a controlled substance, a category B felony, and transporting a controlled substance, a category D felony, and a sentencing hearing was set for 3 p.m. March 12.   According to testimony, Castillo sold cocaine to an informant and had marijuana in his possession when arrested.
  • A detention hearing was held for a 16-year-old male juvenile in custody on allegations he threatened to bite a teacher and used offensive language towards the teacher whom he felt disrespected him.  DYFS recommended he be released to his guardians.  He was suspended from school.
