UPDATED: Shooting occurred after words exchanged with the victim

WINNEMUCCA — The shooting that occurred early Sunday morning (Oct. 14) may have followed events at a party the night before.

Nick Henry Holley, 20, has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

WPD busts burglary rings; recovers extensive stolen property

WINNEMUCCA — A break in the case has led to the arrest of multiple suspects and the recovery of approximately $30,000 in merchandise and 40 pounds of meat in connection to burglary spree that seemed to go on for months.

Man arrested on allegations of child abuse

A man was arrested on Friday (Oct. 5) in connection to allegations he abused his infant and may have shaken her.  Following an investigation into the allegations, Michael Diehl, 30, was charged with child abuse causing substantial bodily harm.

Man arrested in connection to shooting

During the early morning hours on Monday (Oct. 8) Winnemucca Police Department officers responded to Humboldt General Hospital on the report of a male adult who had a gunshot wound to the chest.

Upon arrival officers met with the victim, a 36-year-old male adult. The victim reported he had been shot by another male adult he had just met at a local bar.

Three charged with possessing stolen firearms

WINNEMUCCA — Three suspects were arrested last week in connection to a September 20 residential burglary in which an estimated $15,000 in firearms and other hunting equipment were stolen.

Dominic Wemple, 19, Justin Wilson, 19, and Trenton Price, 20, were booked on charges of possession of stolen firearms. Price was additionally charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
