WINNEMUCCA — Two people were arrested on Monday (Dec. 19) following a Drug Endangered Child investigation conducted by the Winnemucca Police Department. Carrie Strickler, 32, and Anthony Jiminez, 35, were each charged with two counts of abuse/neglect/endangerment of a child, two counts of unlawful presence of children where controlled substances are present, sales of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jiminez was additionally charged with conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act. According to the statement released by the WPD, Detective Will Bourland received information that resulted in a search warrant for the Strickler residence. During the course of obtaining the search warrant, Strickler and Jiminez were located downtown by deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. Jiminez was arrested immediately on an outstanding warrant. Strickler gave law enforcement consent to search her vehicle, which allegedly turned up suspected methamphetamine. She was also arrested. Meanwhile, officers at the Strickler residence carrying out the search warrant allegedly located 5.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects remain in custody at the Humboldt County Detention Center. Strickler’s bail was set at $240,627 and Jiminez's bail has been set at $250,627. The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Winnemucca Police Department, Department of Public Safety – Investigation Division, Nevada Highway Patrol, Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, and the Division of Child and Family Services. |
