The following were the results of misdemeanor arraignments, sentencings, and gross misdemeanor or felony preliminary hearings through February 2.

Thursday, January 21

  • Jack Dee Lingenfelter III was sentenced for first-offense DUI to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed and two days  to do with credit for time served.  The defendant must pay fines totaling $567, attend DUI school and a Victim Impact Panel.  The additional charge of speeding was dismissed.
  • The case involving Gerald Edward Devries, charged with violation of a temporary restraining order, was dismissed.
  • Eric Mercado was sentenced for open container to pay fines totaling $177 within 30 days.  The two additional charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor were dismissed.

Thursday, January 28

  • Michael Jeffrey Walker was sentenced for first-offense domestic battery to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed and two days to serve with credit for time served.  The defendant must pay $322 in fines by Jan. 29 and complete 48 hours of community service by March 19.  He must also attend 1 ½ hrs of counseling per week for 26 sessions.

Monday, February 1

  • Javier H. Ruiz was sentenced for minor in consumption to pay fines totaling $177, which was converted to 20 hours of community service.
  • Manuel Valente Rodriguez was sentenced for minor in consumption to pay fines totaling $177, which was converted to 20 hours of community service.
  • Ashley Edith Jaramillo was sentenced for minor in consumption to pay fines totaling $177, which was converted to 20 hours of community service.
  • Samantha J. Lockett was sentenced for driving with a revoked driver’s license to pay fines totaling $337, which was converted to 34 hours of community service.
  • Benjamin Petras was sentenced for possession of drug paraphernalia to pay fines totaling $250, which was converted to two days in jail with credit for time served.

Tuesday, February 2

  • Israel Mendoza was sentenced for headlights required, driving suspended/revoked – alcohol related, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, and eluding to pay fines totaling $1,179.  All fines must be paid within six months.
