WINNEMUCCA — A 15-year-old male was injured today (Dec. 9) when he drove his dirt bike into a passing SUV – sending him first into the vehicle’s windshield then onto the pavement.
According to Police Chief Eric Silva, the young man was riding without a helmet and had substantial injuries.
However, the young man was talking at the accident scene – usually a good sign. He was transported to Humboldt General Hospital.
Witnesses told investigators the young man was riding the dirt bike in the alley. He left the alley and drove onto Lay St. where he drove into the SUV (shown below).
The collision occurred on Lay St. near the Haskell St. intersection shortly after 4 p.m.
