WINNEMUCCA — An adult woman who was struck by a pickup truck this morning (Sept. 17) was transported by air ambulance to Reno with potentially life-threatening injuries.
According to Winnemucca Police Chief Eric Silva, the accident occurred as the woman walked across the Khoury’s Market parking lot shortly before 7 a.m.
On a request from the Humboldt County DA’s Office, the male driver of the pickup was transported to Humboldt General Hospital where he was given a blood draw to test for alcohol or drugs. The results of those tests were not immediately available. It must be stressed the male subject had not, at the time of this post, been charged with a criminal act.
Silva said a statement on the incident would be released on Monday. |
