WINNEMUCCA — Bridge St. is closed to traffic from Haskell St. to Railroad St. until further notice due to a collision between a vehicle and a railroad crossing pole, which knocked the pole from its foundation.  The accident occurred Saturday afternoon (Sept. 3).

The Winnemucca Police Department investigated the accident but no details have been released.

Just how long that section of Bridge St. remains closed will largly depend on how long it takes Union Pacific Railroad crews to replace the pole.  Depending on the damage, portions of Bridge St. may have to be torn up to make the repair (shown below).
