| Federal warrant issued for Battle Mountain murder suspect |

The suspect was identified as Daniel Draper, 47, a white male, 5’5”, 160 lbs. Draper was driving a black 2001 Ford Ranger with possible license plate: NR8764. Draper was described as from the “northern Nevada area.” The victim in the shooting was identified as Linford Dick, 43, who was killed Tuesday morning at about 1 a.m. The shooting occurred on the Battle Mountain Indian Colony and is being investigated by both the Western Shoshone DPS and the FBI. According To Chief Mike Kolsch, of the Western Shoshone DPS, the two men knew each other and authorities believe they have a motive for the shooting, but it was not released. Winnemucca or Humboldt County residents with information on Draper’s whereabouts are encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch, 623-6429, Secret Witness 623-6969, or 911. |
