Last week, the state government declared that it will set up a CoE-DS&AI (Centre of Excellence for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), with Nasscom as the implementation and program partner.
The CoE, being arranged at a price of Rs 40 Crore, is claimed to be “first of its kind” port founded on PPP model, and will pace the bio-network in Karnataka. It will also offer the momentum for growth of artificial intelligence and data science all over the country. “The state government will additionally back up the proposal with noteworthy share of spending needed for first 5 years and non-sensitive data that can drive research and innovation in artificial intelligence and data science all over the country,” the department of IT & BT claimed to the media in a statement. Priyank Kharge, the tourism and IT minister, claimed that the CoE will allow worldwide companies who aim to set up their worldwide practice of analytics in Karnataka and make jobs for 35,000 artificial intelligence and data science professionals over the course of the upcoming 5 Years.
“Karnataka has headed the IT revolution in the country and has always been at the front position in regions of IT and science. Our government has played a considerable role in growing a healthy entrepreneurial startup bionetwork via its policies for startup, startup warehouses carried out by Nasscom, and with economic help wherever needed,” Kharge claimed to the media in an interview. He further added, “This Centre of Excellence is only a rational next action needed to offer the right fillip to regions of artificial intelligence and data sciences and give a push to not just the state but the whole country as a purpose to grow product solutions all over the world.”
Gaurav Gupta, the principal secretary of IT department, claimed that businesses across the world are facing rapid alterations boosted by digital disturbance. “Considering the chance that the up-and-coming digital technologies will offer in times to come, this CoE-DS&AI is tactically positioned to offer data-supported solutions to many complex issues of the world,” he further added said while addressing the issue to the media.
